About NMP Foundation

Welcome to the Nuba Mountains’ Peoples Foundation, (NMP Foundation), the voice of the Nuba peoples of Nuba Mountains / South Kordofan was founded on the 1st of April 2012.

The symbol of the two wrestlers was chosen to represent the most popular sport in the Nuba Mountains and the curved lines of hill sides in the shape of the letter M to resemble the Word Mountains as the prominent feature of Nuba Mountains’ landscape.

The NMP Foundation supports grassroots Indigenous Nuba peoples in Sudan and globally through information dissemination, networking, coalition building, technical assistance, organizing and facilitating the effective participation of traditional Peoples in local, regional, national and international forums, events and gatherings and by revitalizing our rich culture through dance and music

The NMP Foundation prioritizes documentation and formal complaints to UN indigenous Groups fora as well as to the U.N. Center for Human Rights and the Organization of African Union,(OAU) and particularly its Human rights first defender; the commission of African and peoples rights to redress grievances, increase awareness and impact the development of international standards protecting the rights and survival of Indigenous Nuba Peoples.

The NMP Foundation also focuses on dissemination of information regarding the U.N. and opportunities for involvement to grassroots Indigenous communities and organisations and works to educate and empower women and children and young Nuba people who are displaced across Sudan and neighboring countries.
